Very closely based on the previous 'Aural Essentials' books, the new books have been updated for 'VCE Music Performance'. Changes have been made to address the new  2011-2015 Study Design requirements.

Musicianship Essentials - Units 1 & 2 includes:

• theory basics for absolute beginners

   - rhythm: note & rest values, time signatures, grouping, etc.

   - pitch: notes of treble & bass clef, leger line notes, key signatures, etc.

• prescribed scales, intervals & chords

• diatonic harmony and chord progressions

• rhythmic & melodic transcription

• pages of rhythm reading and sight singing exercises

• 1 CD with 99 tracks - resource tracks and exercise tracks

Musicianship Essentials - Units 3 & 4 includes:

• brief revision of theory fundamentals

• prescribed scales/modes

• intervals and tonality exercises 

• chords, chord progressions and diatonic harmony

• rhythmic and melodic transcription

• 2 CDs with 163 tracks: 32 tracks of resource material & 131 tracks of exercises

Teacher Editions contain the exact same content and layout as the Student Workbook, but with answers. Unlike the previous Aural Essentials Teacher Edition, there is no additional reference or assessment material included.
